Take Me Home... All PANCAKES Are Not Created Equal...

It has come to our attention that there are caterers in the KC Metro Area who are attempting to provide the same type of entertainment and quality of food that we have worked so hard over the past 20+ years to provide to our loyal and faithful customers.  They may match us in price per person served, but will never come close to the level of fun & entertainment that people have grown to expect at a REAL Chris Cakes pancake event.

We received the following e-mail "complaint" on the evening of May 13, 2004 from a concerned parent & potential future customer who THOUGHT that their annual high school event was catered by CHRIS CAKES.  We had previously catered this very same event back in 2000 & 2001.  But in 2004, we were not hired to perform at their annual banquet.  We did, however, provide a FREE breakfast to them later that month and were called back in May 2005 :-)

The following letter says it all!  Except for removing any specific references to the person who sent it to us, it has not been altered or changed in any way.  Please take the time to read it, and understand what this person is really trying to say.  Although it was incorrectly directed at us, it basically outlines why you shouldn't even consider another caterer, if you want to have a fun and entertaining PANCAKE event.

Dear Sir or Madam:

My family just attended a function at Location Removed where we did not get any food because your company did not provide enough food! How terrible that we paid you and you did not come through as promised. I can't imagine that you thought 2 little pancakes were enough per person! The lady said to Mr. X, "You shouldn't have told them that there was enough food!" Fully 1/4 of the people did not have anything except grapes and pineapple. Even the rest of the fruit was gone. I've never seen anything so unprofessional by a caterer! I hope you do something in a big way to salvage your reputation, because a lot of families in this area are absolutely furious! Your company is famous for its quality and service, of which there was neither tonight! I imagined the friendly guy tossing the cakes toward the guests as I've enjoyed before -- NOT! It was just terrible and I strongly believe you should provide some serious restitution to the Location Removed. If not, I will never support your company, either by attending or by using you at my functions at my school where I teach in Location Removed.
